  • About your Apple Ipods battery life – by Ken Sh...
    By bluetooth marketing on February 18th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    The Apple Ipod battery is made out of Lithium Ion. Lithium Ion batteries give out a lot more power than the basic nickel based batteries. They have a longer life span and they are used to give power to lots of different items, such as laptops and cellphones.
    If you plan on going on vacation without your Apple Ipod or if you plan to be without your Apple Ipod for any kind of extended period, you should only store it at half charge. If you store your Ipod at full charge, it will lose about 20% of power per year. You will also need to store your Apple Ipod in a cool place during your vacation.
    Lithium Ion batteries charge in two stages. During the first stage, the battery will be charged very quickly to about 80% capacity, then stage two will start, finishing off the last 20%. Stage two takes a lot longer to finish, because stage two will decrease the current while holding the voltage at a platue.
    If you need to replace your Lithium Ion battery, the best place to do so is from the Apple company. This will run you to about $130.00. Apple will usually only have batteries for newer models of Apple Ipods. If you need to find a battery for an older model, you might need to look elsewhere.
    If you are experiencing your Ipods battery charge indicator not working properly, like if its showing that you need to recharge your battery right after you have charged it, or if it shows that there are some time left on the battery, but stops working, then you should update your Apple Ipod by downloading all the latest software. This will ensure that your Ipod is up to date and is working properly.

  • 02, iPhones and so much more – by Beacon Worthd...

    It is reported that Mobile Phone operator 02 has won the highly fought deal to sell the brand new Apple iPhone in the UK.

    “Press reports said that 02 is set to sign an exclusive contract shortly and should have the new phones on sale in time for Christmas. A spokesman for 02, which is owned by Spain’s Telefonica, declined to comment on the reports.”

    The iPhone saw a huge launch in the USA this past week with carrier AT&T claiming that they had upwards of 500,000 iphone’s activated in week 1.

    There are still a few issues which 02 and Apple will have to work out before the UK launch of the iPhone, namely that the iphone doesnt use 3G and cannot send MMS picture messages (although the later is fixable through a firmware update). Another issue is that O2’s current dataplan is £3 per MB and with the iPhone’s rich internet connectivity users could see their bills rack up quickly.

    02 spokesman have currently declined to comment on the iPhone deal.

    Anticipation was running to fever pitch over the release of the iPhone ever since the design was unveiled in January. The device combines a camera, music player, internet browser and of course a mobile. All of which is controlled by a touch screen.

    02 are expected to retail the Apple iPhone for around £300 on a monthly mobile phone contract. It is thought that this highly fashionable mobile phone cross with iPod will be enough to win over customers to 02 from rival Mobile Phones networks.

    02 was formed in 2001 following the demerger from British Telecom of its former mobile business, BT Wireless.

  • The iPhone – A Complete Media Center In Your Po...
    By bluetooth marketing on January 24th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    At prices that ranged from $499.00 to $599.00 Apple’s new iPhone hit the market on June 29th. The launch was without a doubt an incredible success, with lines around the corner all over the United States waiting patiently (sometimes) for the latest and greatest high tech toy. The iPhone however has turned out to be more tool than toy. Apple is now changing the way cell phones and cell phone accessories are being used. And what is Apple turning them into? A powerful media and communications device that can fit in your pocket.

    Apple has been positioned as the friend of the people, standing against the corporate might of an unforgiving Microsoft. While this stance is more a marketing campaign than a mission statement, Apple is a strong competitor and is certainly a viable alternative to the traditional PC product. In the 80’s the Macintosh stood against the PC, and succeeded in the educational and creative community (the niche markets Apple wanted to begin with). Now the iPhone has will take Apple into the bleeding edge of technology, and it appears they are leading the charge.

    Specifically the iPhone is:

    Operating System

    * OS X

    Video

    * Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 768 Kbps, 320 by 240 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

    Wireless Data

    * Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
    * Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)
    * EDGE

    Display

    * 480-by-320-pixel resolution at 160 dpi
    * 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display
    * Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously

    Storage

    * 4GB or 8GB flash drive1

    Camera

    * 2.0 megapixels

    Audio

    * Audio formats supported: AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 1, 2, and 3), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV

    * Frequency response: 20Hz to 20,000Hz

    With a price tag between $499.00 and $599.00 the iPhone isn’t cheap. The vast majority of the marketplace will be unable or unwilling to pay this amount for a “phone”. As the word gets out however the market will slowly become aware that although this is called an “iPhone”, it isn’t a phone. This is something new altogether, and from a holistic standpoint the price is right.

    Now in a single device you can listen to your favorite song, call your friends, read a web page, send an email, or watch a movie. Yes, watch a movie. Those stats certainly don’t read like a phone. But what about the traditional problems that are inherent with traditional PDAs or other wireless Internet devices such as tiny keypads and endless function screens, or the stylus that would never actually input the correct information? All gone. The iPhone is accessed via a touch screen with a virtual keypad that changes depending on the function the user is attempting to access. So it looks like a phone when you are making a call, and it looks like a keyboard when you access the Internet or send an email. The iPhone uses the Safari browser, so current Apple users will already be familiar with the look and feel. Also, don’t worry about spelling errors in your email as the iPhone will auto-correct just like you are accustomed too.
