Despite losing ground to Microsoft and clone PCs, Macs still have a strong following, especially since an Apple Computer rarely becomes affected by viruses. Also, Mac enthusiasts, especially those in the design and journalism fields will attest to the power of the Macintosh in these environments.

Apple Computer is still adding new lines to the brand. Also, they once more revolutionized the computing industry a few years ago when they came out the the iPod.

iMac
This is the Company’s leading desktop computer, and the popular iPod was developed along with it. The introduction of the iMac in 1998 was directly responsible for Apple Computer’s rising profit margins.

Power Mac
This is Apple’s high end personal computer; it is also referred to as a Power Macintosh.

MacBook
The current Apple MacBook laptops come in three models, 1.83GHz, and two 2.0GHz, one white and one black; all using Intel Core Duo processors and equipped with 13-inch monitors. These replaced the previous PowerBook laptops.

MacBook Pro
This is the high-end version of the MacBook, designed especially for business and other professional applications. There are currently three models available, two 15.4-inch models, a 2GHz and a 2.16GHz version, as well as a 17-inch 2.16 GHz model.

Mac Mini
This PC is similar to the very first Apple I; the Mini Mac is the lowest price Mac on the market. This Mac is available in two versions and comes without a keyboard, monitor or mouse. They also use Intel processors.

Xserve
Apple’s contribution to the server business, Xserve, was first released in 2002. The Xserve can be used in a wide number of applications.

iPod
This portable media player was another in a line of innovative designs from Apple Computer. This device has undergone various improvements since it was first introduced in 2002, the latest being the addition of video capabilities. Many now act as external flash drives as well, allowing the storage of photos and videos in addition to music.

Apple computers have come a long way since they were first introduced and continue to fire the imagination of Mac users worldwide.

Apple cider vinegar, sometimes referred to as cider vinegar or ACV, is made from cider or apple must. It has become very popular because of its many health benefits and beauty properties. Because of it high potassium content, it is best to consult with a health care professional before taking ACV. Although you can make your own apple cider vinegar, you can find it in a natural state at any health food store. Let’s explore some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar.

How to use apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can promote healthier skin and hair as well as be beneficial for health. For more specific ways in which apple cider can help treat specific ailments, contact a nutritionist who will be better equipped to answer specific questions. For more general uses, you can try apple cider vinegar in some of the following ways.

Internal use

Research has shown that ACV can assist the body in its daily functions as well as fight off colds and influenza. It helps in digestion, lowers bad cholesterol, strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure and stabilizes blood sugar. It also contains anti-oxidants that help fight some types of cancer. It can cure an upset stomach by drinking it as a daily tonic.

To make your own daily tonic, mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of water. Usually, one tablespoon of ACV and one tablespoon of honey in 8 ounces of warm or cold water would be a general guideline, but feel free to tweak this recipe depending on your personal preferences. There are also other ways to drink it. You could add it to apple juice or add a bit of fresh cinnamon to neutralize its taste (some coffee shops serve apple cider with a cinnamon stick).

External use

If your feet feel tired and ache, give them a bath. Put half a cup of apple cider vinegar in a tub of warm water. Wiggle your toes around and let your feet soak for a few minutes. A footbath is a great way to relax before heading off to bed.

If your body is too acidic, take a vinegar bath. To properly restore the acid to alkaline balance in your body, simply add 1 to 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a warm bath. Soak your body for about 45 minutes. Aside from clearing your body from excess acid, a vinegar bath helps anyone with a dry or irritated skin make it feel soft.

If baths aren’t your thing, consider mixing one cup each of ACV and warm water in a spray bottle. After your shower, spray your entire body with the mixture. Wait a few minutes and rinse. Your whole body will feel refreshed.

Other benefits of apple cider vinegar include its topically use on different body parts, especially the face. For a deep cleansing steam face wash, add 3 tablespoons of ACV to a pan of boiled water and lean your face over it. Cover your head with a towel for a few minutes to allow the steam to open up your pores and loosen any impurities from your skin’s surface.

Commercial products on the market

Aside from the natural form of apple cider vinegar, many commercial products also exist. Such products include body washes and hair and facial products. Taking ACV in its natural state is just as beneficial if not better than these products.

A note of caution

Because apple cider vinegar is very acidic, never drink it straight. Always dilute it with water. After drinking ACV, you should rinse your mouth with water. Also, do not brush your teeth right away because it might grind the vinegar into your enamel. A great way to avoid ACV touching your teeth is to drink it with a straw. ACV tablets are a great alternative to the liquid, although they don’t work as fast. Also, avoid eye contact with apple cider vinegar as the acid will burn and redden the eyes

The benefits of apple cider vinegar seem endless. These simple methods and ways of using ACV are all great and inexpensive. More importantly, they have proven methods beneficial to your body and to the environment. As long as you use it carefully and for recognized, healthy purposes, apple cider vinegar benefits will continue to reveal themselves. Try it for yourself.

Gray Rothkopf, former founder of Chicago-based ISP Forward.net, Chicago Apple Store Service Manager and current WGN Radio Cybersquad expert, announced the launch of OnDeckTech, a technology firm providing Mac and Windows training, repair, support and trouble-shooting to homes and businesses in the Chicagoland area. Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 15, 2005 — A proven entrepreneur, Rothkopf started providing Mac consulting in 1992 under the name Applecore, built and sold a $3M/year internet service provider with 25 employees called Forward.net, Inc. He then joined Apple Computer’s North Michigan Avenue Apple Store in early 2003. “Working for the Apple Store North Michigan Avenue was the best work experience of my life. It made me realize the true value of teamwork, and the positive energy a corporation could lend to its customers lives.” While Rothkopf was happy to be a part of the Apple team, he started OnDecktech to fill a need the company wasn’t serving. “It’s fun to be part of something successful, and while I loved my team and leadership, it frustrated me that I couldn’t leave the Store to help people. I wanted to start a company that could inspire the same buying confidence in customers at home and office as Apple provides at its Stores. Existing alternatives lacked the availability, affordability and reliability people need, and I started OnDeckTech to address these needs, and serve customers better.” Rothkopf took some of the community-building lessons learned through his work with Apple and with previous entrepreneurial ventures to heart when establishing OnDecktech. “The Apple Store offers free use of its computers to access the internet in order to entice people to use their products. At OnDeckTech, we have created a free Mac help forum (http://forum.OnDeckTech.com) where we answer questions from people all around the world, and a free community website at http://www.wickerpark.com. Rothkopf can also be heard providing weekly computing advice to about 250,000 listeners across 38 states as part of the tech-call in show Website Wednesday Nights, with Steve & Johnnie on WGN AM 720. ”Whether with Forward.net, Apple or WGN, I’ve always had a sense that the way to succeed in business is to be there for your customers – to gain their trust with frank, unbiased advice and ask the tough questions that may ultimately save them time and money. It was the same with Apple as it is with OnDeckTech. Success comes with service.”
Run a pretty fall ribbon through the bowl or basket that contains your apples or even tie a pretty raffia ribbon at the base.
Apples in bushels outside on steps, porches, decks, etc. add a nice “atmosphere” of fall to your decor.
Dried apples strung on a tree give a treat to our fine feathered friends as wel as a festive look to an area. Intertwine with dried oranges, cranberries, dried berries, and you have an autumn garland.
******************************
Dippin’apples:
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts
(optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream all ingredients together. Serve with crisp apple slices.
Caramel apples the easy way!
***
A great way to grace your table with apples:
Cut top off an apple. Scoop out inside, leaving 1/4″ thick shell.
With pointed sharp knife, mark petal shapes; cut along markings.
Brush cut edges with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Fill with a fruit salad, ice ceram, or lettuce salad, also rice or corn.
A very nice addition!
*********
Pan-fried apple slices:
2 red cooking apples, cored
2 tbs. butter, softened
1/2 cup apple jelly
Cut apples into 1/2″ thick wedges. In a pan over medium heat, in hot butter, cook apple wedges about 7-9 mins. or until apples are crisp-tender.
With a pancake turner, turn wedges once during cooking.
Stir in apple jelly; heat through.
Serve with baked ham or with pancakes.
*****
All-time favorite – a fresh from the oven piece of your favorite apple pie – with our without that scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ah! the beauty of life.
ENJOY!
©Arleen M.

Are you interested in an Apple computer? That is great news. Below we will review the Apple computer and computers in general. The personal computer has evolved so much in the last decade. Most importantly the actual speeds of these home computers are off the charts. Apple computers have some unique characteristics that differ from other personal computers.

Can you remember the days when there were no computers? Nowadays, one cannot even think without a computer, computers hold such importance in our life. The first one among all, IBM, came with the one with the rolling ball. Through computers, one can perform those things, which one even cannot dream.

The personal computer or P.C. have changed everything particularly, in the manner the documents we create today. This is a cool electronics site http://www.informationinquiry.com. Rest is history, we are assisted by the computers in each of our activities whether it be work, entertainment or playing games; no one can live without a computer! Due to limited knowledge, some of us still believe that only one kind of computer exists.

Comparing an Apple home computer is like comparing a personal pc as a regular automobile is to a Indy 500 racing car. The Indy car runs, excellent, like a normal automobile. The Indy car (and the Apple home computer) is slick and economical, built for maximum throughput. The regular auto will do what you ask it to do, with some encouraging words. The Apple computer will follow your commands like a King doling out rules. The regular auto needs rest and quite often stops working because it can’t keep up. The Indy car works on and on like a work horse does on a farm.

Well I do not blame you, since you have not seen or used the masters. A Master is like riding a wild horse full of energy and enthusiasm, which never gets tired. Each of us gain knowledge through experience. Therefore, it is high time for you to try the machines like Apple desktop computers or Mac. Whenever you get a chance to handle such a machine, go for it and then you will realize the difference between them. With the change in technology, one should be updated.

You might think that I am just saying this for the sake of it. But, I became a true believer after a month with my Apple desktop when I suddenly realized, it had never crashed even once. The other system crashes about twice a day. If you worked with a PC for a long time, you will need some time to adjust. Not that the Apple computer is difficult; it is just slightly different.

To open a file from the “finder” known on a PC as the explorer, you can’t press ‘return’. Such things will take time for you to adjust. And here is another thing that is different with an Apple desktop. No viruses. I do not even own a virus cleaning system although I keep a virus checker going in the background on my Apple desktop computer. And what do you think it finds? A Mac is immune to all known viruses.

Another thing, about an Apple computer, that is great is the automatic software updates. You just need to connect to the Net and it automatically calls home for updates. No checking the website, no figuring out what you need. The operating system and installed apple software is updated automatically.

I hope this review of Apple computers was deemed useful by you and your peers. We could easily write for days about Apple computers. They are truly a unique machine and can’t really be compared to other personal computers. Like comparing Apples to bananas! Enjoy your Apple computer!

Here are two constipation remedies that you can use for a mild case of constipation and for a chronic case of constipation.

Apple and Pear Juice

If you have a mild case of constipation, you can use this remedy to get results.

Prepare equal amounts of fresh apple and pear juice. Drink this combination when you first wake up and one hour before bedtime.

Juice the pears that are slightly hard. If the pear is ripe, it is best to blend it whole with apple juice to create a thick drink. Using the whole pear will give you additional fiber. Just remove the seeds but do not peel the organic type.

Pears have minerals, vitamins, and chemicals that help to clean out your colon, kidney and to regenerate your blood cells.

Apple Juice and Prune Juice

Here’s a constipation remedy that you can use if you have chronic constipation. In addition to just drinking apple juice, you can accelerate your peristaltic action with prune juice.

Here’s how to do it.

If you have a juicer you can make fresh apple juice and drink 3-4 glasses a day. You can also drink store-bought apple juice but try to get fresh squeezed and not the type that has been flash pasteurized or pasteurized. If you can find fresh apple juice then use flash pasteurized.

Buy your juice in glass containers if possible.

Plastic containers are processed using solvents that stay in the container walls and gradually outgas into the apple juice. This out gassing is more severe when plastic containers are stored in hot places.

To speed up the laxative effects of apple juice, take the following combination first thing in the morning before you have breakfast,

Drink 2-3 cups of prune juice.
After ½ hour, drink one cup of apple juice
Then, 1-hour later drink another cup of apple juice.

I usually buy my prune juice in a bottle and fresh squeeze my apple juice.

Be prepared to head for the bathroom after you drink your prune juice and your first glass of apple juice. You may need to head to the bathroom soon after you drink prune juice, everyone is different. I have used this combination and have recommended it to my clients and have had good results.

Prune juice by itself is good for constipation. It is a safe, gentle and an effective laxative. Drink a cup in the morning and a cup in the evening. Prune juice contain the substance dihydrophenylisatin, which is responsible for the laxative action. Prunes are also high in iron and are a great supplement if you are anemic or low on iron.

If you add prune juice to your diet, do not drink as much of it as you would when you have constipation. Drink ½ glass in the morning and perhaps ½ glass in the evening.

APPLES… THE “FORBITIN’” FRUIT

Karen A. Lech

THE APPLE – This incredible fruit is linked with a deceitful talking serpent, and the downfall of woman, and man! Forbidden fruit! -What sort of connotation is that? Poor, innocent apple! I say we change the apple’s image. Not forbidden, but for biting. It would be easy to understand why this precious jewel of the fruit world would be ‘forbidden’. An apple should portray goodness, for that is what they are – totally good. Unless you get a rotten one. “One bad apple” – a bad apple is totally distasteful; a desecration of all that is pure and, well, good. Apples are used in everyday language, “apple-cheeked” and other terms and clichés that sound like proverbs… “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. “Don’t sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me…”.A line from an old song circa World War II. At this time of year, we could change the lyrics a bit to… Don’t sit under the apple tree…without a helmet. Why? A bombardment of windfalls may knock you nearly senseless, as I found out when apple picking the other day. Yes, it’s that time of year for apple picking!
Just reach up to a branch and pluck. The apple tree’s branches slump like shoulders -.a weary mother laden with the burden of oh-so-many children hanging on her arms. An apple fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. A nice, solid feel, a globe of delight, a treat for every sense. Its skin may be a bit dusty from the elements of wind, rain and sun. You vigorously rub it on your shirt front or the hem of your skirt, and voila! It shines like a coffee table polished with lemon oil. You press it to your lips; its perfume invigorates your nostrils… crisp, the tang of the incredible juices, the sweetness of a season of sunlight and rain, only to be made sweeter perhaps, by a coating of gooey, buttery caramel. The crunch of the skin bursting when bitten to let loose the fragrance and solid fruit and ambrosia -like juice within. Is there anyone who does NOT like an apple?

Under a magnificent skin color, lies the clear white of a McIntosh. The ruby skin of the Jonathan covers its cream-colored flesh. Golden yellow with freckles of bronze – the Golden Delicious. The varieties are almost endless, as well as the possibilities of what can be done with the apples upon returning to your creative room…the kitchen.

Even the word “apple” sounds nice. It has a nice, rounded sound when we speak it. And oh! the triggers of memory that come with it. Apple pie, apple cider, apple dumplings, taffy apples, apple slices layered in a velvety gel spiked with cinnamon and sandwiched between two layers of a melt-in-your-mouth flaky crust, the top crust blanketed in a frosty sugar glaze.

How we take the apple for granted! The merry month of May skips along the happy path of sunshine with laughter and embraces the apple trees with warmth. They respond with glee and burst forth a fragrant floral display, making the trees look like they are holding snowballs of whitish pink. The five-petaled flowers of the apple trees soon drift down to the ground on a Zephyrus day, leaving the heart of the flower to grow for a season. The heart of an apple, its core, is five segmented also, and holds about 5-10 seeds. And the question still remains…….. it is not how many seeds in an apple… but how many apples are in a seed?

Apples are historic – not only from the sense that for want of a better name for the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, but all through history. Apples can be found in nearly all parts of the world. The Soviet Union, before its break up was the leading apple producer of the world. Apples are legendary – take the Swiss legend of William Tell, for instance, or our own American legend of Johnny Appleseed – the name given to John Chapman, an early American pioneer, who eventually owned about 1,200 acres of orchards. You can find apples in many poems, songs, and nursery rhymes… “A is for apple…” Archaeologists found charcoal remains of apples when studying the remains of Stone Age villages in Europe. In 300’s B.C., the ancient Greeks were growing several varieties of apples, according to World Book encyclopedia. No wonder we give apples to teachers, but it is apples that teach us so much.
So, go out and have some fun, make some family history. The season for apple picking lasts through October usually. Take a sun-filled Autumn afternoon, hop in your car, park near a row of trees; grab a heavy duty handled paper sack, and survey the rows of trees all waiting for you with their gifts. It does not take long to fill the bag, and each one you pick you are sure is the best. Of course you have to taste so many while you are picking. With your tummy full, your mouth tantalized, your heart overflowing with the just darn good feeling, your mind amazed by abundance, your brain already formulating recipes and future delightful ways to use your treasure, you’ve spent a few hours making some of the best memories you will ever make. When you get home, there will be the fun of peeling and paring to see if you can do the whole apple without breaking the peel. Apples, they are ripe for the picking… The End

Apple is a Readers’ choice for a line production of MP3 players known as all generation of iPods. You may have heard of them. But from some resource which called Cowon America, part of a Korean multimedia giant, scores nearly as high for its players, which generally go by the iAudio moniker. And, radical as this may sound to Apple, a few of the Cowon players are actually compatible with music subscription services, earning the company a Readers’ choice as well. Just a few steps below those two you’ll find Archos, Creative, or iRiver; on the next step, three vendors score particularly poorly: Philips, RCA, and Rio.

For high overall score for Apple is 8.4 out of 10. Apple does have one problem area: quality control. According to readers, 8 percent of its units require repair. Worse, this isn’t just because of older players dying: Apple had a high percentage of units needing repair among its players less than a year old as well.

It’s also interesting to note that Apple’s tech support and repair satisfaction numbers are relatively low compared with the company’s inordinately high scores for desktops and notebooks. With so many PC users buying iPods, this may support the theory that Apple’s desktop and notebook scores are artificially inflated by the anti-Windows crowd. Or maybe not.

Now, last year. What’s favorite MP3 players for you!

Apple has released the newest product in the Apple family — the MacBook Pro. Since there are so many features to list, I’ll just bullet them before my review:
15-inch:
* 15.4 inch display
* 5.6 pounds
* 4x SuperDrive
* 2GHZ or a 2.16GHz Core Due
* One Firewire 400 Port
* Two USB Ports
17-inch:
* 17 inch display
* 6.8 pounds
* 8x SuperDrive
* 2.16GHz Core Due
* One Firewire 400 Port
* One Firewire 800 Port
* Three USB Ports
Color
The MacBook Pro comes in silver or black. I chose the black one as it is stunning.
Performance
The Intel Core Duo allows the MacBook Pro the ability to use the power of two processors on one chip. What this means is that the performance of the machine is doubled, while it only needs to power one processor. The front side bus at 667Hz, which Apple says “runs faster than any pervious Mac notebook,” allows for graphics to be switched between 2D and 3D.
iSight
There is a built in iSight camera, so that you may video conference around the world use the iChat software.
Overall
The Mac Book Pro was a great machine. I’ve been using it for a while now and I absolutely love it. I doubt I’ll be going back to a Windows based machine anytime soon!

I admit it. I am hooked. I am hooked on my Apple G4 Laptop. First, you have to know this. It is my first Apple and my first laptop. I always thought that laptops are what you used when you could not buy a real computer. Now I hang my head in shame for ever thinking that.

The Apple G4 laptop may be all you will ever need to buy in a computer. The G4 runs very fast so that you can play all the new games that require a lot of processor speed. Although for my Apple G4 laptop, I installed extra memory because I sometimes work with large documents.

This laptop is slick and compact with all the features you need. You can get the Apple G4 has a built in CD/DVD reader and CD writer. You can also add on a DVD writer.
The Apple G4 laptop comes with a track pad that works very well even for a person like me with fat, clumsy fingers. But I have to tell you the truth. I like a mouse, which by the way, Apple invented. So, I plugged in a mouse to one of the two USB ports and now it performs exactly like my old desktop. The Apple G4 laptop keyboard has the feel of a desktop with all the function keys. Except the number keypad is integrated with the alphabet keys so you have to press a function key to get them to work as number input. This is annoying but it is the same as all laptops.

One other thing that is truly great about the Apple G4 laptop is the built-in speakers and microphone. You do not need to by a headset with the unit. I did add plug-in speakers for better music quality but it is not necessary and remember this. With the built-in microphone, you are instantly ready for web voice chat.

As with all Apples, the G4 laptop has automatic software updates from the Internet. Just hook up to the Net and it automatically calls home for updates. No checking the website, no figuring out what you need. The operating and installed apple software is updated automatically.

The LCD screen has great resolution and color quality and tilts to every position you need if you do decide to take with you off the desk. Also, the battery runs for at least three hours or more for normal no-sound applications.

The Apple G4 laptop is a neat, clean package that gives you both the feel and performance of the biggest desktop computer. You are sacrificing nothing but space to own this unit.

“We started out to get a computer in the hands of everyday people, and we succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”

- Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple Computer Inc., 1976.

Steve Jobs was adopted to a family in Mountain View, California. While still in high school, Jobs interest in electronics prompted him to call William Hewlett of Hewlett-Packard to ask for some parts for a school project. Hewlett provided the parts and then made an offer to Jobs to intern at Hewlett-Packard for a summer. There, Jobs met Steve Wozniak, a talented and knowledgeable engineer five years older than the high school student. Their friendship would eventually be the foundation on which Apple was built.

Jobs dropped out of Reed College after one semester and went to work for Atari designing games. He carefully saved the money he earned while working at Atari so that he could take a trip to India and sate his bourgeoning interest in the spiritualism of the East.

After returning home from India, Jobs and Wozniak renewed their friendship. Jobs was shown a small computer that Wozniak had been working on as a hobby, but Jobs saw its potential immediately and persuaded Wozniak to go into business with him. In 1975, at the age of 20, Jobs went to work in his parents’ garage with Wozniak working on the Apple I prototype.

The Apple I sold modestly, but well enough to be able to go to work on the Apple II. In 1977, the new model was put on sale. With a keyboard, colour monitors and user-friendly software, Apple became a success. The company made $3 million in their first year and had surpassed $200 million in their third.

However, in addition to the Apple III and its successor the LISA not selling as well as had been hoped and a marked increase in competition in the sale of PCs, 1980 saw Apple lose almost half of its sales to IBM. Things got worse for Jobs in 1983 when a fight with the directors got him kicked off the board by the CEO, John Sculley, whom Jobs himself had hired.

In 1984, as a response to the sharp decline in sales, Jobs released the Apple Macintosh which introduced the world to the point-and-click simplicity of the mouse. The marketing for the Mac was handled poorly and with a price tag of $2,500, it was not finding its way into the homes for which it had been designed. Jobs tried to repackage the Mac as a business computer, but without a hard-drive or networking capabilities, not to mention only a small capacity for memory, corporations were not interested. In 1985, without any power in his own company, Jobs sold his stock in Apple and resigned.

Later in 1985, Jobs began NeXT Computer Co. with the money he’d made from the sale of his stock in Apple. He planned to build a computer to change the way research was done. The NeXT computer, though complete with processing speeds previously unseen, unmatched graphics, and an optical disk drive, at $9,950 each, sold poorly.

Persistent after the failures of the NeXT venture, Jobs began toying with software and started to focus his attention on a company he’d bought from George Lucas in 1986, Pixar Animation Studios. Jobs signed a three-picture deal with Disney, and began working on the first computer-animated feature. Released in the fall of 1995, it had taken “Toy Story” four years to be made. But the work had been well worth it, the film was an incredible success. Pixar went public in 1996, and in one day of trading, Jobs 80% share had become worth $1 billion.

Apple was struggling, having failed to design a new Macintosh operating system, and the company only held 5% of the PC market. Days after Pixar went public, Apple bought NeXT for $400 million and renamed Jobs to the board of directors to advise Gilbert F. Amelio, the chairman and CEO. However, in March of 1997, Apple recorded a quarterly loss of $708 million, and Amelio resigned a few months later. Jobs was left in charge as interim CEO and it was up to him to keep the same company he had started and which had ousted him alive. So he made a deal with Microsoft. With an investment $150 million for a small stake in Apple, Apple and Microsoft would “cooperate on several sales and technology fronts”, and Apple would be assured their continuation in the PC market.

Jobs also went to work improving the quality of the Apple computers. The introduction of the G3 Power PC microprocessor made the Apple faster than those computers operating on Pentium processors. Apple also turned its energies toward producing an inexpensive desktop, the iMac, that was another hit for the company. With Jobs once again in control, Apple was able to quickly turn itself around, and by the end of 1998, was bringing in $5.9 billion in sales. Jobs had returned to his first love, a little older and a little wiser. He had made Apple healthy again and returned it to a place where it was contributing new and innovative technologies to the computer world.

Can you even recall the days when there were no computers? If you can, then you know that back then, a typewriter was just a typewriter. Then IBM came out with the one with the ball. It was a really big deal because you could actually change the font.
The personal computer much revolutionized the way we communicate. Now the rest is history with some many applications, games; how can anyone live without a computer? Sometimes it seems as if there is only one type of computer, absolutely not true.
Like so many of us today, I have virtually been tethered to a computer for about ten years and I also thought that all computers were created equally until I began using an Apple desktop computer or Mac.
An Apple desktop computer is about the same as an ordinary computer as a horse is to a cow. The cow runs, well, like a cow. The horse (and the Apple desktop computer) is sleek and efficient, build for performance. Can you tell that I’m an Apple fan by now? Yeah? It is pretty obvious as it? The cow will do what you want it to with a little encouragement. The apple desktop computer lives to follow your commands just like the horse. The cow needs to rest and often quits working ‘just because’. The Mac continues to go on and on and on because that is what it is made to do.
Daiei may think I’m just talking out my butt here but I became a true believer after a month with my Apple desktop and quickly came to the realization, it never once crashed on me. The ‘cow’ crashes all the time. Sure, if you worked with a PC for a long time, you’ll need a period of adjustment to wean yourself away. Not that the Apple computer is hard; it is just a little bit different.
To open a file from the “finder” known on a PC as the explorer, you can’t press ‘return’ that takes some getting use to. And here is another thing that is not the same with an Apple desktop. No viruses. I do not even own a virus cleaning system because I don’t need it, although I keep a virus checker going in the background on my Apple desktop computer just in case. And what do you suppose it finds? PC viruses that have no effect on my Mac.
Another great advantage of owning an Apple computer is the automatic software updates from the Internet. It actually communicates to the Internet and automatically updates itself. No checking the website, no having to decide what you need. The complete shebang is updated automatically. Pretty cool, huh?
I always tell my pals, my Apple desktop computer is a real computer; the “other one” is nothing more than a pretender.
